Recent state guidelines for Chinese TV discourage plot lines with "fantasy, time-travel, random compilations of mythical stories, bizarre plots, absurd techniques, even propogating feudal superstitions, fatalism and reincarnation, ambiguous moral lessons, and a lack of positive thinking."
